Symptoms of a lower UTI may include:
- Pain or a burning sensation when peeing (dysuria)
- Needing to pee more often than usual
- Waking during the night to urinate (nocturia)
- Sudden or increased urgency to pee
- Cloudy-looking urine
- Blood in the urine
- Pain in the lower tummy or back (just under the ribs)
- A high temperature, or feeling hot and shivery
- A very low temperature (below 36°C)
Your urine may also appear darker or have a strong smell.
If this is your only symptom, it may simply indicate dehydration, so drinking more water could help.
