This Pharmacy First service is available to adults aged 18 years and over. If you are experiencing symptoms of shingles, you may be eligible for treatment and medication supply following a consultation with our pharmacist.

About Shingles
Early signs of shingles may include:
- Tingling, burning or painful sensations in a specific area of skin
- Headache or generally feeling unwell
A rash typically appears a few days after these initial symptoms. In some cases, shingles can cause pain without a rash.
The shingles rash:
- Most commonly appears on the chest or tummy
- Can develop anywhere on the body, including the face, eyes and genitals
- Usually occurs on one side of the body only — a rash on both sides is unlikely to be shingles
